Answering the “Why Here?” College Essay Question

This is one of the hardest questions that colleges ask students. It is not a question that can be easily answered nor should it be. Choosing where you go to college is a big decision and you should have a sound rationale for every school you apply to, a rationale that you are not afraid sharing with the college admissions committees. They are not asking you to gloat about the school here. Don’t regurgitate information about why the school is awesome; they knew that already. Talk about why you personally want to go there. What makes you a good candidate to represent that school? Don’t write an essay where you could just fill in any other school’s name.
