VIP applicants are those whose parents have donated a large sum of money to a school. The important thing to note is that you cannot buy your way into a college the day before you apply. If your family has a history of supporting the school, it is likely that your application will be given a second look over others, but the donations have to seem genuine. If your family has a building built or has donated money, your parents should talk to the development office, and mention that you are applying. Beyond that, you should not take any other steps to gloat that your parents donated to the school. There are very few applicants that get in because of VIP status and it is never just because of said status.
